Cool Vintage Find: Thrift Citi in Highland Heights

Many people in Memphis and beyond are familiar with the thrift stores and antique shops that are housed up and down Summer Avenue.

The thrift shops are what the average person usually thinks of when they hear the phrase "thrift store": unorganized (or crammed to the gills), but full of quirky items and treasure waiting to be found by someone willing to take the time.

Several days ago when I made a trip to several of these stores, I noticed one slightly off the main strip, at the intersection with National.

Thrift Citi (not to be confused with City Thrift, which is also on Summer), located at 3386 Summer Avenue (some listings have it at 3382 Summer Avenue), was a cool surprise. Parking is in the back of the store, on National.

When you go in, walk past all the rows of washers, fridges and dryers, and hang left.

There you will find a number of really cool women's vintage dresses and outfits hanging from the ceilings.

I was a bit surprised to see that the hanging items had prices more in line of what you would see at a curated vintage boutique (think $30-$60+).

However, there is also great stuff tucked into the racks that sells for $25 or less (generally $10-$15).

There were quite a few cute, kimono-inspired dresses.

Check this store out if you are looking for some unique pieces!
