Memphis-native and Memphis Tigers and NBA legend Anfernee 'Penny' Hardaway released the 'Galaxy' colorway of his Nike Air Foamposite Ones sneaker series which has sparked long lines and even riots for the $220 pair of shoes.

The 'Galaxy' version are the latest incarnation of the Foamposite series, which was released in 1997, according to BallerStatus.com. These shoes actually glow-in-the-dark.

Hardaway himself wore a special, white version ("Shooting Stars") of the shoes during last week's NBA AllStar Game.

There was riot in at Florida Mall in Orlando and long lines and people camping out in New York City. The shoe's release in Maryland was canceled due to safety concerns.

The shoes are all over Ebay at exorbitant prices (including a $70,000 sale attempt that has been removed and $2,500 bids). One fellow in New York even offered to trade his 1996 Chevy Cavalier for a pair.

BSC: How long have you been a makeup artist?

SM: I've been doing makeup since I was 16, but I didn't get my title [Makeup Artist] until I was 20, so about 8 years now! (Geez, I'm getting old.) :)

BSC: What are some of your favorite makeup products?

SM: Now you know this is such an unfair question to ask a makeup artist!  I have so many favorites! :)  It totally depends on the client and skin type. However some of my favorite products are not makeup at all, but skin care -- my motto is that "great skin care is the best makeup". A few of my personal favorite makeup products that I'd recommend to any woman or man have to be:

(1) Chanel Inimitable Mascara- It has these little rubber thingies that separate lashes and its truly build-able!

(2) MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer- a little of this stuff goes a long way. Its a pretty thick formula, so don't forget to use a good eye cream.

(3) Laura Mercier Lip Glace - everything from the scent to the texture is just right on!

BSC: What do yo enjoy most about being a make up artist?

SM: Hands down I enjoy the way I make people feel! There's no greater feeling than to know you've touched someone's life; or boosted one's self esteem by showing them how to conceal blemishes and help them bring out their best features. I enjoy editorial and creative shoots, but I absolutely love weddings. Just being apart of such a special, blissfumoment in a woman's life is just soul-stirring! It's those moments that make it all worth it!!!

BSC: What are your thoughts about fashion and beauty and the city of Memphis?

SM: I've heard many say that Memphis is late and is at least 5-10 years behind in the fashion category; I BEG TO DIFFER! I feel that Memphis has it own fashion identity, just as every other metropolitan city! Memphians are stylish and fashion forward! We appreciate fashion and interpret our own creative blends of trend & style! With that said, I do feel that we lack in the fashion retail department, although a couple retailers have come into the city, but its not nearly enough! As for makeup, I'm often inspired by my clients tenacity to step outside of the box. They are always up-to-date with the latest makeup looks and wear them well! GO MEMPHIS!!!

BSC: What drives you?

SM: I had a very rocky childhood and experienced a lot of things that a child should never, ever have to endure. Makeup is my therapy and is moreso a conduit to my life's purpose -- to help children! The backside to my makeup line is that a portion of proceeds will go to The FACES FOUNDATION for Inner City Youth Enrichment & Education. This project means more to me than any accolades that I have or will ever receive!

BSC: What is a basic beauty tip that could help any woman?

SM: So many women don't wear makeup because they've never worn it before or don't know what they're doing! This is crazy to me-- How can you learn if you never try! SO my best piece of advice is NOT to be afraid to mess up! Start with a concealer, mascara and lip gloss then start to customize your own makeup wardrobe to fit your specific needs!

BSC: Who is someone that you would love to collaborate with? (If you don't mind saying).

SM: I would love to callab with two of my makeup idols Pat McGrath and Sam Fine! I would love to work with Adele on her next album cover! Lol :)
