Sorry about the slow posting guys.

Life is good, but has also been uber busy. Because of that I missed out on attending Memphis Fashion Weekend this past weekend. :(

But it was attended and covered by some awesome bloggers, journalists, and photogs.

Those selected will be invited to a second round of casting in March and be notified by Feb. 20. Only those who are selected to go on in the process will be contacted.

Memphis Fashion Weekend 2013 will be held April 5-6. All models selected must be available full days for both dates.  Models will receive $50/day payment for the work with MFW.  Those traveling from out of town will be expected to secure their own accommodations and meals.  Models under 18 will receive 1 guardian ticket for the shows.

Memphis Fashion Week 2013 will be searching for Emerging Memphis Designers to be a part of the runway shows on March 29-30, 2013. Come learn the ins and outs of being a designer, get details on entering your looks, and pick up your applications!

The event will be held 5-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Theatre Memphis, 530 Perkins Ext.

And participants were on-trend with their love of color: lots of orange on Friday and plenty of forest green and cobalt blue on Saturday.

I'd like to give a shout out to one of the event's organizers, Addie McGowan, who suggested the name "Beale Street Style." I'll be using this name for feature street style posts.

The first day of Memphis Fashion Weekend was held at Jack Robinson Gallery in Downtown Memphis on Friday.

The three featured spring collections were presented by Ellis Dixon (of Memphis), Carol Peretz and Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti.

The second day took place Saturday at historic A. Schwab and featured spring collections from Annie Griffin (Memphis-native), Billy Reid (to much applause from the ladies!), What Comes Around Goes Around with Vintage CHANEL and Neil Bieff.

This weekend's events were put together by Abby Elzemeyer and the proceeds benefit ArtsMemphis.

The events will be starting as a weekend this year, anticipating that more days will be added next year and in future years.

This year seven local and national designers will be showing their Spring 2012 collections: Ellis Dixon (of Memphis), Carol Peretz, Philosophy, Annie Griffin (of Memphis), Billy Reid, What Goes Around Comes Around, and Neil Bieff.

The shows will be held from 7-10:30 p.m. Friday at Jack Robinson Gallery and Saturday at the historic A. Scwab on Beale Street. The after party Friday will be held at Brass Door; Saturday's after party will be held at Itta Bena (top floor of B.B. King's). The after parties are open to VIP ticket holders, models, and designers only.

You can purchase single-day tickets for $35 ($40 at the door) and VIP passes for $150 ($160 at the door, VIP passes cover both days).
